Two upcoming workshops in February
"Working together" and "We the People." Hope you can join us!
Working together
Exploring what Steiner meant by the term “association”
A workshop with Seth Jordan
February 15th (from 1:30-5pm)
Threefold Educational Foundation in Chestnut Ridge, NY
Throughout his life, Rudolf Steiner spoke about the need to work together in the spirit of brotherhood / sisterhood. But Steiner was no abstract moralist. He knew the interpersonal difficulties that inevitably arise, as well as the larger capitalist structures in need of transforming, and he gave practical indications on how to address these things. Join us as we explore — with Steiner's help — the nature, challenges, and possibilities of working together.

We the People
Finding a path through polarization to social harmony
A workshop with Seth Jordan and Robert Karbelnikoff (in partnership with Threefold Driftless)
February 20th-23rd
The Commons in Viroqua, WI
At the time it came into being, the US Constitution represented a huge advance in human civilization. For the first time, a government was formed with the express intention of limiting its role in the lives of free individuals, while also providing the structures and processes necessary for those individuals to create and uphold common agreements. For over 200 years, this accomplishment has inspired the lives of people around the world.
But human beings have created a host of new problems that the founders of our country never could have imagined. Every day these new problems seem to bring our world closer to the brink of the abyss. In the face of these realities we might ask:
Is it possible to put aside our polarized worldviews and work together on a more far-reaching vision for spiritual, social, and economic transformation?
Can we imagine a new kind of constitution — a new set of guiding agreements, suitable for our times — that could bring our world back into balance?

Most of the best outcomes emerge through direct physical engagement with each other, the plants, the animals, the earth, the sky, the water and the entire cosmos.
Remote control is a huge temptation. If we could only invent a machine to ease our labour and give us more free time to enjoy luxuries. Ah! Such are the fantasies of children. Of course there is a down side to the magic of machines. Machines like the automated publishing and broadcasting systems we now have. Here we are. What is happening is happening.
Of course we need to renew our relationships with each other where we live. We need to create screen free sanctuaries in our homes and local communities. We need to renew analog forms of communication that can be delivered by hand on foot. We need to learn how to play gently and joyfully with each other in integrated circles of all ages and abilities of people. https://www.alexandersociety.org
